In honor of Women's History Month, join us as we celebrate the visionary women you may have never heard of, but who are actually behind many of the designs you know and love today.

In this webinar, George Kordaris, longtime industry leader, Fellow at the Royal Society of Arts, and Associate Professor at the ArtCenter College of Design where he teaches furniture history, will shed light on hidden gems of design history—extraordinary women who have played pivotal roles in shaping the designs we adore. These designers have left an indelible mark on our industry and it's time to give them the recognition they deserve and to help set the record straight.

Following the 45-minute presentation, there will be a live 15-minute Q&A session. Ask questions, share your thoughts, and gain deeper insights into the lives and works of these influential women.

George Kordaris entered the furniture industry in 1973 after a serendipitous invitation to a Knoll showroom party during the Morrison and Hannah seating series launch. Joining Knoll later, George's unique perspective on furniture design flourished through decades, learning from prestigious firms during the transformative 70s when the office landscape shifted. From Los Angeles to New York, he cultivated relationships with elite design firms, and Knoll entrusted him to establish the Knoll Brand in Japan and Hong Kong, a pivotal chapter in his career. In 1988, George's love for design grew with the Vitra AC2 chair, leading to his role as Managing Director for Vitra NA, coinciding with the Vitra Design Museum's opening. A journalist endeavor followed, co-creating Officeinsight and DesignDaysNY.

Herman Miller later tapped George to head the Global Architecture and Design Program, reestablishing the brand's emotional connection. As President of Humanscale International in London, he oversaw significant company growth and earned a Fellowship from the Royal Society of Arts. Returning to New York as Moroso NA's CEO, George continued his impactful journey. Drawing from his experiences, he founded Round Table Associates, offering strategic advice. Since 2018, George has been teaching "The History of Furniture Production" at Art Center College of Design, showcasing his commitment to the industry's future. George's global understanding, coupled with a passion for design, makes him an industry success story with unparalleled insight.
