Arthur L. Caplan, PhD

Mitty Professor of Bioethics, Director NYU Grossman School of Medicine

Arthur Caplan is a renowned professor and researcher of medical ethics, who is widely published and an expert on the topic of ethics in transplant medicine. Dr. Caplan is head of the Division of Bioethics at New York Univ. Langone Medical Center. He was former chair of the Dept. of Medical Ethics, and the Sidney D. Caplan Professor of Bioethics at the Univ of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Jaime César Naranjo Ortiz

Congressman, Member of Parliament

Mr. Jaime César Naranjo Ortiz is a Chilean agronomist, academic and politician, and Member of Parliament of the Socialist Party. He is the former vice president of the Chamber of Deputies, and former vice president of the Senate. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the National Human Rights Prize; the "Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur" from the President of France and the "Light and Memory" award from the Jewish community.

Lawyer, Member of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture, Council of Europe

Former member of Italian parliament and treasurer of “Hands Off Cain,” an NGO for abolition of the death penalty worldwide, and board member of "Prison Insider," an NGO for worldwide information on prison conditions. She is considered an expert in monitoring prison conditions and treatment of detainees.

Krzysztof Loziński

Journalist

Krzysztof Loziński is a Polish political and human rights activist denouncing fascism and communism since the 1960's, and was a leader in the Solidarity movement in Poland for which he spent 15 years in prison for activism in human rights. He is a noted journalist, chief editor, photographer, author and alpinist.

Thomas Rohden

Thomas Rohden is a political science student at the University of Copenhagen. He is known for his humanitarian and advocacy work in supporting Hong Kong Democratic dissidents, and combatting human rights violations by China.

Debra Holbrook, MSN, RN, FNE-A/P, SANE-A, DF-AFN, FAAN

Academy of Forensic Nursing

Debra Holbrook is a critical care Nurse and subject expert for the U.S. Departments of Justice and Defense on forensic nursing science. She founded the Forensic Nurse Examiner Program that became a model for the United States (US Senate, 2002). She has testified before Congress and the Senate Judicial Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs on behalf of the Bill that became the DNA Justice Act. A Fellow to the American Academy of Nursing, she is the recipient of numerous international awards and is acting Director of Forensic Nursing at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore which coordinates care to victims of interpersonal violence.

David Curtis, MA, MBBS, MD PhD, FRCPsych

Hon. Prof., UCL Genetics Inst., University College London and the Centre for Psychiatry, Queen Mary Univ. of London.

Dr. Curtis, Hon Professor at UCL Genetics Institute, Univ College London and the Centre for Psychiatry, Queen Mary Univ London, currently works full time in genetic research and identification of risk factors for mental illness. Former Editor-in-Chief of the Annals of Human Genetics, he declined journal submissions from China over concerns of preventing collusion with mass DNA collection that was being used in China to support human rights abuses, including forced organ harvesting.

Sophia Bryskine is an optometrist and primary healthcare practitioner in Sydney, and a senior researcher in Australia for Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting, DAFOH.
A key liaison officer for government and media efforts on the topic of forced organ removal from prisoners of conscience in China, she is an advocate for ethical transplantation practices within the medical community.
