The next generation of central solar inverters is set to be unveiled, and before an official launch at Intersolar Europe, Gamesa Electric will present a new central inverter featuring seven ways to improve LCOE due to its specific design features.
In this pv magazine Webinar, we will get a first look at the Gamesa Electric Proteus, the new generation of central inverters for PV and Storage applications that introduces significant improvements for large-scale projects. Antonio Montoto, Sales Manager Storage & Hybrid PV, Gamesa Electric, will present the Proteus inverter, and explain the evolution in the product from popular Gamesa PV 3X series inverters.
The seven proven ways to improve LCOE will be explored, with the focus on how the new Proteus provides added value, revenue, and again lower LCOE, through higher efficiency, lowest THD in the market, and a performance rating set to reach 100% through compensation of inverter losses resulting in extra energy production.
Another point to be explored is temperature derating, with the CoolBrid hybrid-cooling system of force-air and liquid improving the Proteus performance further. The effect is that the inverter has a much higher working temperature, for optimum performance in hot and often arid climates. The Gamesa Electric team will also touch on design improvements for easier and faster O&M.
In addition, Enrique de la Cruz, Solar & Storage Sales Director, at Gamesa Electric, will detail a case study from a 50MW PV plant in the south of Spain, in operation since 2021 — seeing real performance from the plant, and how it exceeded the expectations of the plant's designers, especially in production and availability. A Q&A session and discussion will follow the presentations, with the Gamesa Electric Proteus set to be unveiled officially at Intersolar Europe just a week later.
