As the Director of the Work-Learn Institute (WxL), Judene leads the only research unit of its kind in the world investigating the practice of co-op and work-integrated learning (WIL) in the development of talent. Over the last decade, Judene has led the WxL research team in conducting research on topics from talent pipelines to student conversion intentions and has collaborated with national and global WIL researchers, producing numerous journal articles and presentations for national and international audiences.

Lead, Talent Acquisition @ ecobee
Emma is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with 10 years working in Recruitment. For the past 3+ years she has worked on ecobee’s Talent Acquisition team and led the creation of ecobee’s campus recruitment and new graduate program. Emma has been involved in early talent recruitment over the last 6 years and loves to see co-op students and new grads bring immediate value to an organization.

Selena Latchman

Selena is a recent graduate from the University of Waterloo’s Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction program, who is now working full-time (and remotely) as a Developer at Shopify. Completing six unique co-op terms was the reason she discovered her passion for building technology. Outside of work, you can find Selena advocating for mental and physical wellness, fostering animals, baking and keeping busy with various art projects.

Recent graduate of University of Waterloo
Andrew is a recent mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Waterloo. His long-term passion to fight climate change, along with his recent international work experience, has inspired him to pursue a career in sustainable development. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Carleton University with a focus on renewable energy systems.

Associate Provost, Co-operative and Experiential Education @ University of Waterloo
Norah McRae, PhD, is Associate Provost, Co-operative and Experiential Education at the University of Waterloo. Her involvement in co-operative and work-integrated education spans more than twenty years, over which time she has led strategic program development and research on student engagement, community-engaged learning and intercultural competency development. She is a faculty member for the WACE Planning Institute for Global and Experiential Education and the WACE Assessment Institute. Norah has served as President of the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education and is an Executive member of the World Association for Co-operative and Work-integrated Education Board of Directors.
