A talk by Michelle Tumolo. **This clinic includes live Q&A with Coach Tumolo!**
My goal during this presentation/video is to help coaches create the complete attacker. As an attacker myself, I have found most success when I am not just trying to put the ball in the back of the net. You want your players to be able to create on all aspects of the offensive end. I will go over IQ – when and how to read the defense while dodging to create plays. Emphasis – DODGING TO FEED FROM THE CREASE. I will go over creativity – think outside of the box. This ranges from diving to save a ball from out of bounds, picking up a ground ball between your legs, throwing a no look pass, knowing when to throw a BTB shot or pass, etc. I will go over skill – think the basics but ramp it up a notch. To be great you have to practice skills every single day. Emphasis -Stick work, ball handling, shooting, etc.
I will provide drills for each topic. I will explain each one on video!

Michelle Tumolo, an All-American player at Syracuse, member of the 2017 gold medal-winning U.S. National Team and, most recently, the top assistant at the University of Oregon, enters her third season at Wagner. Before a shortened 2020 season, Tumolo directed the 2019 Seahawks to a program-best 16-4 record and to the Northeast Conference (NEC) championship.
In addition to guiding her team to the NEC title, which is the Seahawks' second straight and third in the last four years, Tumolo's 2019 Seahawks earned a dramatic 15-13 comeback win over MAAC-Champion Fairfield in the NCAA Championship Opening Round.
Tumolo came to Oregon after three previous seasons as an assistant coach, spending 2016 with Syracuse, her alma mater. Under head coach and Hall of Fame player, Gary Gait, she coordinated an offense that tallied 314 goals, second-most in the nation.
Prior to her one season as an assistant at Syracuse, Tumolo enjoyed a successful two-year stint at Florida where, in 2015, she helped the Gators lead the NCAA in scoring with a 15.52 goals per game average.
Tumolo also brings to Wagner experience as an attacker on the U.S. National Team where she helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Cup in Surrey, England. Tumolo was one of seven USA players named to the All-World Team.
