About This Webinar
Staging a major production in a busy school is as much a logistical challenge as an artistic one. The pupils are pulled in different directions, the staff likewise, and there aren’t sufficient hours in the day to schedule enough rehearsals before opening night. This talk will offer thoughts on how to achieve the best results from pupils whilst negotiating the rhythms and routines of the school year.

    Head of Drama, Magdalen College School, Oxford

    Alex Thomas is an Oxford-based teacher, writer and composer. As Head of Drama at Magdalen College School since 2013 he has directed around thirty productions, including his four original musicals and a number of adaptations. A keen musician, he has collaborated as a composer with a number of other writers and performs regularly with his jazz trio.

    Drawing on his interests as a teacher of History and English, he also writes historical and children's fiction. He contributes regularly to 'Drama and Theatre' magazine. For more information see www.alexthomasweb.wordpress.com
