Three Company Grade Officers (Army, Navy, Air Force) will discuss current and recent operations they are engaged in ranging from Hawaii to forward of the International Date Line to set and support the theater.

Future Operations Officer, Engineer Directorate, Headquarters, US Army Pacific
Capt. Benjamin Howard, USA., received his Civil Engineering undergrad from Virginia Military Institute and his Master of Science in Civil Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. Capt. Howard's previous assignments include the 7th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 2-5 CAV Combined Arms Battalion and 91st Engineer Battalion.
He is currently assigned to United States Army Pacific Headquarters as a future operations officer within the Engineer Directorate. His responsibilities include force management, security management, joint force engineer coordination, managing and tracking exquisite engineer operations, activities and/or investments.

Company Commander, Airfield Construction Company Alpha, Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE
Lt. Alex Hubbell, USN., received his Civil Engineering undergrad from California State University, Sacramento. He started his Navy career at NAVFAC Southwest, where he served as a Construction Manager in the Facilities Engineering and Acquisitions Division at MCAS Miramar, and then transitioned to be the Assistant Public Works Officer and the Seabee Self-Help Division Officer at Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego. In November 2022, he served as the Officer in Charge for the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program for Facilities, Engineering, and Acquisition Division Somalia. Currently, he serves as Company Commander for Airfield Construction Company Alpha at Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE. Lieutenant Hubbell is a licensed engineer in the state of Arizona and a registered Energy Manager in-Training.

Program Manager, Federal States of Micronesia, PACAF Civil Engineer
Capt. Austin Flues, USAF., received his Civil Engineer undergrad from the United States Air Force Academy and his Masters in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology. He has deployed twice with the 820th RED HORSE Squadron, once to AFCENT and, most recently, as the Current and Future Operations Officer for the 356th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Group, Guam. He is currently the Pacific Air Forces Civil Engineer’s Federal States of Micronesia Program Manager and the liaison officer for PACAF’s forward engineer detachment at Andersen Air Force Base.

Col. Matt Beverly, USAF., is an accomplished career civil engineer, leader, and change agent with over 24 years of experience leading large, diverse organizations worldwide. After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy, he began as an Air Force pavements engineer. He has since expanded into project and program management executing initial base planning and construction, base expansion, and sustainment across the United States, Middle East, Africa, and the Pacific. Most recently he commanded the 1st Expeditionary Civil Engineer Group directing heavy construction and maintenance across nine Middle Eastern countries and then helped Pacific Air Forces stand up the 356th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Group.

He is a prior Assistant Professor at the U.S. Army War College where he taught military strategy and campaign plan development, and created classes and courses on space, cyberspace, and electromagnetic spectrum operations. Additionally, he has commanded at the squadron level four times and served on Major Command, Combatant Command, and Secretary of the Air Force’s staffs.
