Swiss machining is synonymous with speed and accuracy. The cutting tool solutions applied in this environment must possess the same traits to ensure these complex machines stay up and running. For non-rotating applications (turning, grooving, parting, etc.), Iscar has introduced NEO Swiss, a new quick-change system consisting of a wide variety of heads which can be easily, quickly and accurately changed while maintaining a high level of rigidity. Another important feature of this new system is optimized coolant delivery, made possible and optimized by using modern design and production techniques, such as computational fluid dynamics and 3D printing. For rotating applications (mainly milling and drilling applications), the introduction of integral collets and tooling for use with the Multi-Master system provides companies with the accuracy and versatility to optimize rotating tooling applications used within the Swiss environment. The result is faster, more reliable tool changes with less scrap and increased machine and spindle utilization.
