This presentation is intended to provide guidance to archaeologists documenting Post-European Contact archaeological sites in Oklahoma for review by the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office (OKSHPO). We will review available resources for researching your project area and site, both prior to an actual survey and after you have identified post-contact resources in the field, discuss best practices for completing a site form for a post-contact archaeological site or site component, and discuss National Register eligibility considerations when assessing these resources paying particular note to the difference between Site Significance and Site Integrity. Questions will be welcomed throughout the presentation. Feel free to reach out to me (kristina.wyckoff@history.ok.gov) ahead of this presentation if you have other questions you would like to see addressed in this presentation.
