This workshop will address how the South Florida Pride Wind Ensemble formed the first high school youth LGBTQ+ and Allies honor band. The Youth Pride Band of South Florida annually gifts ~$15,000 in college scholarships to deserving juniors and seniors in high school and provides an unforgettable honor band experience. This workshop will explain how to gain support from the community, recruit students, involve high school directors, and seek out funding to those LGBA bands wishing to start a Youth Pride Band in their city.

● Promoting music as a medium of communication among people;
