NCDOR Associate Director of Knowledge, Education, & Outreach
Austin Davis leads North Carolina Department of Revenue’s Knowledge, Education & Outreach (KEO) Program and has been doing so since 2016. Austin’s team conducts internal and outreach training initiatives all across North Carolina. Austin has 11 years of experience working in tax related roles and previously worked with the South Carolina Department of Revenue before coming back home to NC. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with double majors in Finance and Management.
Mark A. Brown is Assistant Director for the Sales and Use Tax Division of the North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR). Mark began his career with NCDOR in the Examination Division in April of 1999 as a Revenue Field Auditor Trainee in Durham, NC field office. Mark worked in the Examination Division for over eleven years and was a Team Leader for over five years while in the Examination Division. Mark joined the Sales and Use Tax Division in May of 2010 as an Administration Officer. Through his 10 plus years in the Sales and Use Tax Division, Mark has primary worked in the Request for Review Resolution Section of the Sales and Use Tax Division. Mark was named Assistant Director of the Sales and Use Division on August 24, 2020.
William Young has been with the NC Department of Revenue since 2011. He has served as a Revenue Officer, Agency Legal Specialist, manager of the Bankruptcy Unit, and manager of the Individual Income Tax Section of the Technical Services Group. He has worked as an Administrative Officer in the Personal Taxes Division since 2017. He has a B.S. in Financial Economics, a B.S. in Music, and a minor in Mathematics. He earned his Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University, where he also served as the Managing Editor of the Law Review.
