In the year 2023, the Shipping Industry has been busy implementing the GHG emissions regulations on CII. The rules are a part of the incentives from IMO and have the intention of reducing CO2 emissions from shipping in the short term. The CII rules have affected the operations of vessels to some degree where owners and operators have had to have an eye on the development of the CII over the year to be sure to land the vessels in the targeted rating by the end of the year. The SEEMP has been changed and will be an even more important tool to handle and improve the energy efficiency of ships. Following subtopics will be discussed.

• Explain how CII provides a standardized measure of a vessel's energy efficiency
• The role of digitalization, data analytics, and AI in optimizing voyage efficiency

During placement with d’Amico International Shipping, I worked in the new building division contributing to the group fleet greening – such as ships with advanced clean technologies – and managed those ships later in service,
Product Tankers, Bulk Carriers and Containers, liaised with various divisions, formulated reports in compliance with the international conventions and participated in group project meetings. Utilizing excellent communication skills, I developed and maintained successful working relationships with both internal and external multicultural staff. Looking to secure

After coming ashore in 2013, Harriet pursued a career in software development as a product owner and manager for maritime technology companies. She has worked with groundbreaking multi-company digitized risk prediction initiatives, digital data-focused fuel efficiency systems, and fleet voyage planning solutions.
Harriet is passionate about the sea and the lives of the crew members onboard vessels across the oceans, engaging with crews to make a greener and safer world.
Mattia Canevari

Born in 1979, he graduated cum laude in Genoa in 2004 in Management Engineering and achieved a II level master's degree in Business Administration in 2017 at the Milan Politecnico. After a brief experience in Oracle Spa, in 2005 he joined the company Grandi Navi Veloci Spa, now part of the MSC group. He begins his professional adventure as a Buyer within the Procurement Department, and then moves on to Marine Operations with gradually increasing managerial roles between the Genoa Head Quarter and the main ports of the Mediterranean Sea, with significant experience in Spain, France and Maghreb. He was appointed Energy Manager in 2015 and gained experience within the Technical Department, then broaden his focus first in environmental management and later in Sustainability. He is now part of the GNV Compliance Department, established in 2022, with the role of Energy & Environmental Compliance Manager. He obtained the Corporate Sustainability / ESG Manager / Auditor certification in 2023, finalizing a training course that began in 2022, through which he is certified Lead Auditor for Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
