American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine is an institution dedicated to creating future generations of physicians that serve the communities they represent. • AUA is approved, accepted, recognized and accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, the New York State Education Department, the Medical Board of California, the Florida Department of Education, the Medical Council of India, UK’s General Medical Council, and the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Sciences. We are one of only three Caribbean medical schools with these distinctions.

• AUA’s pass rate for the USLME Step 1 is 96 percent in 2017. Step 1 is the most important exam for Caribbean medical students.

• AUA has a growing network of almost 40 hospital affiliates across the United States and Canada.

• AUA has two groundbreaking programs in collaboration with Florida International University (FIU). The Clinical Clerkship Certificate program makes it possible for students to complete all their core clinical rotations hospitals affiliated with FIU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM), while the AUA Global MD program provides research opportunities, medical Spanish training, and focuses on the social determinants of health at home and abroad.

• Title IV (Federal) funding, Canadian Federal Loans, VA benefits, and scholarships are available to qualified applicants.
