-‘De-brief’ on the challenges faced during 2020/2021 for dentistry
- Shine a light on the hard work the entire profession has been putting in to meet
patient demand
- Highlight positive changes that we can take forward
- Discuss how the profession can increase patient confidence to return for routine
examinations and continue spreading positive oral health messages

Anna Middleton

Dental Hygienist & Therapist

Anna is a dedicated and passionate award-winning dental hygienist and therapist. She started ‘London Hygienist’ with the mission to change the way oral health care is delivered to patients. Anna is a key opinion leader for Philips as well as a Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) ambassador for EMS Dental and Swiss Dental Academy trainer. Anna is an ambassador for the British Society of Hygiene and Therapy and British Society of Periodontology. Anna lectures and writes regularly for both industry and consumer press.

Alif Moosajee

Dr Alif Moosajee is the award-winning principal dentist at Oakdale Dental, a specialist dental practice in Leicester, and is also the author of the book 'The Smiling Dentist' a jargon-free book for patients about clinical dentistry.

Alif qualified at Birmingham University in 2004 and has a particular interest in implant and digital dentistry and loves to merge the two interests to provide his patients a fully digital workflow.

Alif is a general practitioner and is intent on maintaining and treating his list and developing long lasting relationships with his patients. Committed to finding the win-win scenario for everyone, he understands that if he does the right thing by those he interacts with, then they will generally do the right thing by him. He has a love for communication and finding ever more powerful and eloquent ways to allow his patients to better understand their mouths. It was this love that lead him to write his jargon- free book to help educate patients about dentistry.

As a principal, Alif is committed to utilising his team to deliver the best possible care, relying heavily on his therapist and nurses to help his patients get the best possible treatment and experience.

Alif loves sharing knowledge and regularly teaches CEREC and CEREC implantology at all levels. He lectures on numerous topics and also created the Leicester Study Club. He regularly makes appearances on BBC TV and Radio and on Channel 5 commenting on topical dental issues. After writing his book, he continues to put pen to paper writing for dental magazines 'The Probe' and 'Dentistry'. He is on the editorial board for ‘Young Dentist’ magazine and has had articles published in journals including ‘Implant Dentistry Today’. Alif was awarded Best Young Dentist UK and won the Fast Track 4 award in 2016.

Victoria Wilson

RDH RDT BSc

Having worked in Dentistry for over 15 years, beginning her journey as a Dental Hygiene Therapist at the Eastman Dental Hospital London in 2001, Victoria Wilson has been dedicated to the dental profession since. Her extensive professional experience spans over 2 continents having worked as a practicing hygiene therapist for over 10 years, beginning in the NHS and private sector in the UK and then progressing to the private sector in the UAE, working at Dr. Roze & Associates Dental Clinic.

Victoria was the founder of the Emirates Dental Hygienists Club under the Emirates Medical Association, and was elected president in September 2015. She is also a member of the House of Delegates for the International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH) and I sit on the Communication and Public Relations committee for the IFDH.

Victoria is also the founder of ‘Smile Revolution’, a Key Opinion Leader for Philips, a public speaker, presenter, researcher and peer reviewed writer - having presented for Unilever in the UAE and Switzerland.

Andrew Wallace

Dr Andrew Wallace is a general dentist with special interest in prosthodontics and orthodontics and accepts referrals for full mouth rehabilitation, treatment of tooth wear, cosmetic dentistry and endodontics. Andrew gained his Master of Clinical Dentistry in prosthodontics from King’s College London in 2015 and full Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (MFGDP) for the Royal College of Surgeons England in the same year. Andrew has been one of the partners in Bachelors Walk Dental since 2004 and has a particular interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry.

Melanie Pomphrett

Dental Hygienist & Professional Relations Manager at Philips

Melanie qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2015 from the University of Essex and was named Best Hygienist 2020, she now continues to work part time in practice whilst also bringing her clinical expertise to the Philips teams as Professional Relations Manager. Melanie completed an MSc in Advanced and Specialist Healthcare (Dental Professional Practice) at the University of Kent in 2019, her research focused on the views of Dental Hygienists and Therapists on Direct Access, followed by a PGCert in Education in 2020. Melanie is also an ambassador for the BSDHT.
