In June of 2017, Doug’s career journey led him to Burns & McDonnell, where he assumed the role of Grid Modernization lead. Burns & McDonnell actively supported his continued involvement with the IEEE PES and GWAC. Notable projects included Grid Modernization initiatives for Entergy, emphasizing Grid 3.0, and contributing to Duquesne Light Company's downtown underground network development. His contributions extended to creating and delivering tutorials for IEEE PES, as well as chairing the IEEE PES iGET CC (Intelligent Grid/Emerging Technology Coordinating Committee).
