Navigating identity through education: Towards equity and social justice Jeffrey's keynote will explore your key role in helping children and young people navigate identities in shifting contexts, looking carefully at the pressures arising from various ideologies, systems and social constructs. There will be a particular focus on masculinity, drawing upon Jeffrey’s writing on the issue, and ensuring a positive presentation of masculinity to counteract some of the dangerous online narratives that can lead to division and misogyny.
Jeffrey will invite attendees to consider how society works differently for different intersections of identity, looking towards wider aims of inclusion and social justice whilst also examining the ideologies that shape society across various institutions and sectors. The session will offer perspectives on building personal insights and shaping an argument for equity, considering how we can each leverage our personal narratives and lived experiences for the benefit of wider society and the communities we are part of.
The world of 2025 and beyond may seem particularly daunting, but this keynote will highlight the crucial difference you and your students can make in the face of so many complex challenges.
