This month we highlight the work done by a team from Vanderbilt University in collaboration with U.S. Army CCDC Soldier Center. The team will present a framework for generating automated performance assessments across a generalized formalization of competency using multimodal data collected from mixed reality and LVC supported training environments. They will present a case study of two fire teams of soldiers training on the enter and clear a room dismounted battle drill to demonstrate analysis using the automated performance assessment framework. We will hear how they overcame the challenges of collecting, processing, and analyzing the data to lay the groundwork for more accurate training results. From the case study analysis results, it was evident the framework can be used to model performance progression of teams over time and highlight areas where the team is performing well and areas for improvement. Join us to hear the story behind this team and their work, and learn how you can collaborate with them to further develop the framework to improve current and future training needs.
