Please join me for the next in the Webcast with Dave thought leadership series, on May 30th, at the usual 4:00 PM EST time slot, when I will have Chris Whalen, Chairman of Whalen Global Advisors, as my guest. Chris is an expert on the banking, mortgage finance and fintech sectors, as well as being the author of several books, including “Inflated: How Money and Debt Built the American Dream” and “Financial Stability: Fraud, Confidence & the Wealth of Nations”. Chris is a contributing editor at National Mortgage News and appears in a variety of other publications and media.
He is a member of FINRA and a Senior Advisor at J.V.B. Financial Group in New York. From 2014 through 2017, Chris was Senior Managing Director and Head of Research at Kroll Bond Rating Agency, where he was responsible for ratings by the firm’s Financial Institutions and Corporate Ratings Groups. He was also co-founder and principal of Institutional Risk Analytics from 2003 through 2013.
When I had Josh Rosner on the call last month, we were in the eye of the storm on this regional banking mess, now I suppose we can say we are in a new chapter of a book that is not yet completed, so round two will have Chris, who, like Josh, is among the most widely respected financial sector analysts in the United States and also like Josh, is a full fledged member of the Camp Kotok crowd. It was at the strategy and fishing camp where, well over a decade ago, we first met. Josh took us through the storm and Chris will take us through what happens next.
