This webinar discusses optimization in Rhino/Grasshopper. Using benchmark results from (mostly single-objective) structural, building energy, and daylighting problems, we discover which optimization algorithms to use when, and how Opossum uses a cutting-edge, machine-learning-related algorithm to get a head-start on other algorithms.
We will see how to structurally optimize a small pavilion with Opossum 1.5 and catch a sneak preview of Opossum 2.0, which allows the visualization and interactive exploration of machine-learned fitness landscapes.
Opossum 1.5 is free to download. (http://www.food4rhino.com/app/opossum-optimization-solver-surrogate-models) In addition, participants will gain exclusive early-access to Opossum 2.0. (Rhino 5 and Grasshopper required.)
