About Barry (MS, Chemical Engineering; MS, Mechanical Engineering)
Barry spent more than 30 years as an engineer with Army’s Natick Soldier Science Center in Natick, where he researched and developed protective items for soldiers and received official recognition for his insightful contributions to his field. In addition to earning two Masters in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical) he also was a Fellow with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Advanced Studies Program. Recently he turned his career in a new direction, devoting more time to educating others. Along with continuing his role as a faculty member for Northeastern University’s Engineering Technology program, he is an engineering specialist for Blue Heron STEM Education, and has frequently provided public programming in science. An avid life-long learner, he plays guitar and mandolin, reads widely in political and scientific history, pursues amateur astronomy, and renovates his farmhouse. He enjoys the opportunity to share his innovative STEM knowledge and enthusiasm with educators, through his work with i2 and with Blue Heron. Contact him at barry@bhstemed.us.
