As Australia’s most populated cities and states are released from lengthy lockdowns, there is an overwhelming craving for meaningful contact and reconnection to the world beyond our four walls. But as people emerge from their fortresses, in time to enjoy some Christmas holiday cheer, they will be doing so cautiously and with a greater sense of consciousness about where they travel, how they travel, why they travel and what the impact of their travel could be on the communities and environments they visit.

As a destination Tropical North Queensland has long been leading the charge when it comes to best practice nature-based and Ecotourism in Australia – Douglas Shire (Port Douglas, Daintree & Cape Tribulation) is the only Eco Destination in the country. Business operators in the region have been Eco certified for decades and more than that, have been actively innovating and contributing to critical environmental research. So how has the global pandemic impacted on this pristine environment and what does the greater purpose of travel really mean now and for the future.

Presented by David Koch from Pinstripe Media, join our panel of business owners, CEOs, journalists and media personalities as they discuss how current global circumstances are driving the desire for a greater purpose of travel, and how this aligns with the business philosophies that underpin tourism in Tropical North Queensland.
