The International Doctoral Program (PDI) in collaboration with student organizations Addal and StrasAIR are happy to invite you to the conference “Tracking the movement of COVID-19”, which will be held in form of a live webinar.
This conference will be devoted to discussion of the coronavirus-tracking apps with Willem Jonker, CEO of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT Digital). Mr. Jonker will talk about the digital systems developed within Europe and worldwide for the prevention of the virus spreading in the post-quarantine period. During the webinar, you will have an opportunity to learn about the influence of the Covid-19 contact tracing systems on privacy and ask your questions on how innovation and technology can help fight the virus.
Willem Jonker

Prof. Willem Jonker studied mathematics and computer science at Groningen University, worked at Delft University of Technology, received his PhD from the University of Utrecht, and is a part-time full professor in computer science at Twente University.
Willem Jonker's industrial experience covers telecommunications (KPN), IT (European Computer industry Research Centre, Munich) and consumer electronics (Philips). He held several positions as researcher, international project leader, department head, sector head, and account manager. In 2006 he was appointed Vice President Philips Research. Prof. Dr. Jonker has served European ICT research in various ways amongst others as project leader, reviewer, and advisor.
Iryna Makarchuk

Iryna is currently working on a PhD project in the field of protein electrochemistry. She is a delegate of the International Doctoral Programme (PDI) which aims to increase the international visibility of the University of Strasbourg and its research activities. Recently, Iryna joined the social committee of the student association StrasAIR to organize cultural and networking events.
