Susan Metcalf
Senior Librarian, T&I Library, Sabic
Susan Metcalf is a Sr. Corporate Librarian for SABIC. Her background is mostly as a university reference and instructional services librarian and she’s worked at Northeastern University, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, University of Southern Indiana and, since 2007, SABIC, a Saudi Arabian petrochemical company.
As a corporate librarian, Susan serves a global user-base of primarily PhD-level engineering or chemistry researchers across the U.S., Europe, Saudi Arabia, India, China, Japan and South Korea. As the only librarian, her responsibilities are varied and range from document delivery to developing and managing the library website to training and awareness, to collaborating with researchers and leadership, to subscription management and budgeting.
Over the past two decades, she has worked closely with Elsevier to offer training and awareness sessions for ScienceDirect, SCOPUS and Knovel as these databases and platforms continue to be enhanced. These library tools as well as your librarians can in fact be part of your success.
