Dr. Adam Baumgarten
Urologist
Dr. Baumgarten specializes in genitourinary reconstruction, urologic trauma, and prosthetic urology. He joined UAB Urology after completing residency training at the University of South Florida followed by a fellowship in urologic trauma, reconstruction, and prosthetics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He underwent advanced training in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, male stress urinary incontinence, Peyronie’s disease, urethral stricture disease, ureteral stricture disease, genitourinary trauma, and genitourinary fistulas.
Dr. Baumgarten specializes in penile implant placement, artificial urinary sphincter and male sling placement, complex urethroplasty surgery, and both robotic and open urinary tract reconstruction.
Dr. Baumgarten serves as the Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Urology, the Associate Program Director of the Urology Residency Program, and the Departmental Chief Value Officer.
