Beyond Trauma: Creating HOPE & Resiliency for Youth

This 1.5 hour, live webinar will outline the behavioral, developmental, emotional and physical impact of domestic violence and other forms of child abuse on children.

Over 18 million children live in homes where domestic violence occurs in the United States. In order to effectively work with and support survivors of domestic violence, it is critical to understand the impact and consequences of trauma on our youth.

Participants will learn how to create a safety plan, important messages to send children, and available community resources. In addition, this webinar will highlight the critical work of Camp HOPE America that focuses on building HOPE and resiliency in children and youth, through its trauma-informed summer camping and year-long prevention and mentorship programming.

The Center for Family Justice (CFJ) provides free and confidential trauma-informed services and coordinates care for all victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, and child abuse in six towns in Fairfield County, Connecticut: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford, and Trumbull.
