Chris Harries
Senior Manager Charging Systems
Imagine starting as an apprentice straight from school in 1998? I was assigned to Propulsion Engineering and 25 years later, I’m providing the leadership for charging systems. Back then the JLR apprenticeship scheme combined college and university with on-the-job learning. The opportunity saw me graduate from Warwick University, initially working on engine control systems, releasing electrical & electronic hardware then subsequently software functions. In 2013 I was promoted into management with responsibility for the driveline control systems. In 2019, I moved to geometric integration of electric drive units, whilst living in Munich and collaborating with BMW. On my return to the UK in 2021, I transferred to high voltage control systems development and now charging!
