About this CPD Webinar Series
We welcome you on behalf of the Centre of Excellence in Safety for Older People (CESOP) & the Centre for Remediation, Support and Training (CRST), Professor Iqbal Singh, Chair CESOP & Robert Armstrong, Chair Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
The last couple of months living within the grip of COVID-19 has seen a great transformation occurring almost overnight. Our prized NHS, envied the world over, has been sorely tested.
No more so than for the many health professionals who work on the frontline - these health and care workers, specifically ones from Black, Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, have had to deal with the sad realisation that they are much more likely to contract the virus and the disproportionate impact of risk, morbidity and mortality.
This places unimaginable levels of stress upon them and their families causing enormous amounts of anxiety, apprehension and uncertainty.
This can have serious consequences on both their physical and mental health which may impact on their ability to not only work safely and effectively but also could make them more vulnerable. They have become fearful of not only their work environment but also of the uncertainty that lies ahead.
Many doctors have been left feeling unsupported and searching for answers to their many questions.
This series of 45 minute webinars addresses issues around support, mentorship and professionalism and building resilience at this very challenging time.
Topics to be covered are:
- Disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on BAME doctors (Tuesday 16 June)
- Addressing short and long term mental health issues (Tuesday 23 June)
- Evidence on inequalities in health and COVID-19 (Thursday 16 July)
- Professionalism and mentorship (Date to be confirmed)
The Webinar Series is organised by the Centre for Remediation, Support and Training (CRST), in association with the Centre of Excellence in Safety of Older People (CESOP).
**Each webinar has been CPD certified and attendees will receive a CPD certificate after the webinar**
